Awarded the Diversity and Sustainable Development Prize

Fawzia Koofi a leading member of peace negotiating team with the Taliban and a former representative of Badakhshan province in the House of Representatives, won the Casa Asia Award for Sustainable Diversity and Development.

The panels of the 2021 Casa Asia Foundation based in Madrid, Spain, presented the awards to four nominees at a meeting held on Monday, December 21, after reviewing 52 nominees in four categories.

Ms. Koofi was granted the Casa Asia 2021 reward for diversity and sustainable development for her work in the field of protection of women’s and children’s rights, her political role for peace in Afghanistan, and her commitment to educating children and women.
